Rapper, Macklemore was abruptly removed from Ed Sheeran’s Loop Tour due to his politically controversial comments in regard to the Palestine and Israel war.
Singer and songwriter, Ed Sheeran is on his Loop Tour in the United States, performing at multiple different venues across the country.
Across these venues, Sheeran has obtained a large and impressive list of supporting acts, with names including, Macklemore, Finneas and Lukas Graham.
On the 14th of September, Macklemore released a statement on this Instagram, announcing his split from the Loop Tour.

In Macklemore’s Instagram post, he says, “I was informed that several venues would not allow me to perform due to my pro-Palestinian statements”.
Macklemore also claimed that Robert Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots and a prominent pro-Israel figure, pressured venues and Sheeran on the removal.
Speculation spread across the media in regard to Sheeran’s involvement and why he allowed Macklemore to be removed from the remaining dates.
Sheeran then released a statement saying, “Macklemore coming off tour was the promoter’s decision, it was not mine.”
In his statement from his Instagram, Sheeran attempted to mediate the situation saying he wants his concerts to remain apolitical and inclusive.
As a result of Macklemore’s removal from the tour, several of Sheeran’s other supporting acts later withdrew from the tour in solidarity with Macklemore and showing their support to Palestine.
